86233 Norwich Union is now virtually complete. A few final checks, and any tweaking that may be required will now take place before the loco is sent on it`s way.....

As we can see, the nameplates I managed to obtain are not suitable straight from the bag. The plaque is totally unusable too. Let`s see what we can do.....

There we go, that looks much better. I have opted to hand paint the plaques. If you don`t scrutinise them too closely, they will do just fine!
A few extra coats of varnish, and reassembly is all that is left to do.

An identity at last! All transfers have been added, and detailing is coming along at a good rate now.

It wasn`t until the front ends had been resprayed when I realised I had forgot the air intake boxes. These have now been added and will probably be hand painted yellow as all the masking has now been removed. Grab rails, and some extra roof detail has also been added since the last update.

Underframe has now been reassembled, apart from adding some weight. Work has now turned to front-end and roof detailing. A little tidying up will be next before grab rails are added.

Underframe details have now been completed and painted. Locos roof has also been repainted. Wheelsets and motor will be put back in their appropiate places and tested. Further detailing work on the bodyshell should commence later in the week.

Partly reassembled for the photo, 86223 has had the left hand compressor removed, and the bodyshell has been prepared for addition of front end details. Before this is done though, work will commence on the buffer beams and couplings.

This loco has been totally dismantled. So far the couplings have been removed, and isolation switch has been removed and filled, and area below pantograph base has been built up with plastic section. Removal of left hand compressor is the next job...

A final look at 86215 before transformation....
